NON-VVTI 1UZ-FE Front Water Crossover kit
The biggest problem I ran into with modifying the 1UZ-FE was the geometry of the front water crossover tube. The replacement I got for it just didn’t look very good, and it deleted the thermostat. On long road trips, I experienced less than optimal engine temperatures, because the water was not spending enough time in the engine. Placing a remote thermostat in line resulted in a delay of the thermostat opening because it sat 10 to 12 inches away from the engine. This set up is designed to solve all of those problems. The thermostat is relocated to the traditional location, where the water is leaving the heads and heading to the radiator. The thermostat bypass comes off of the thermostat housing and enters into the water pump adapter. The holes for the thermostat bypass will be tapped upon request, and the kit will come with the AN line premade. The kit will also come with a small tube of Protech ultra black and a new thermostat. The two mounting locations for the sensors will not come drilled and tapped. This is because each person might be using different sensors in those locations. I found a company that will manufacture for the crossover using an aluminum SLM process, so it will be a solid one piece, and the other parts are made out of 6061 T4 aluminum. The benefit of the SLM process is that it will have a more efficient transition in the T, and there will be no welds to fail.
